A New York woman was arrested after being identified as a suspect paying with counterfeit bills at Walmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 1450 Johns Lake Rd., regarding 18-year-old Kalsie Heywood attempting to shoplift around 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 11, according to an arrest report from the Clermont Police Department.
Dispatch advised that she had gotten into a black sedan and left the parking lot. Upon arrival at the intersection of Citrus Tower Boulevard and Crossridge Road, the officer spotted a black Nissan Infiniti with Heywood in the front passenger seat. He recognized her red braids from dispatch’s description, the report said.
The report noted that earlier in the day, law enforcement had been briefed about a woman matching Heywood’s description who had been stealing using counterfeit money.
