KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The oldest Lar gibbon in the United States has passed away at almost 59 years old, the Zoo Knoxville announced on Tuesday.
The zoo said that the average lifespan of a Lar gibbon is about 25 years, meaning Nipper’s longevity is something extraordinary.
