Due to the cost of living, lack of state income tax, a strong job market, and diverse lifestyle options from city to city, many view Tennessee as an appealing place to live. However, according to a recent study, it isn’t the best place to raise a family.
WalletHub’s new study, “Best & Worst Places to Raise a Family in 2026,” ranked 182 American cities based on 45 metrics, including cost of housing, healthcare and quality of local education. WalletHub’s study separated those 45 metrics into five categories: family fun, health & safety, education & childcare, affordability and socioeconomics.
