Knoxville Habitat for Humanity raises $119,000 for affordable housing

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Knoxville Habitat for Humanity is celebrating a record-breaking fundraiser to support its affordable housing mission.

A record $119,000 was raised by the community for the organization’s Women Build initiative, which unites women and people from all walks of life to help families through affordable home ownership.

The program works to create affordable home ownership opportunities through the first-time homebuyer program and preserve homeownership through the critical home repair program.

Knoxville Habitat for Humanity launched in 1985, with local efforts directly impacting over 1,500 families in Knoxville.
