Current, former Richard L. Bean Juvenile Center employees sue Knox County, chief

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Several former and current employees of Knox County’s Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center have sued the county and the center’s chief, Cory Dauer, saying they were untrained, poorly treated and in some cases fired for personal reasons.

Eleven employees — David England, Brandyn Hullett, Thomas Garmer, Athena Stubbs, Pinceton Wells, Johnathan Jordan, Steven Tanner, Austin Voorhies, Phillip Cox, Jeffrey Bryson and William Andrick — filed the lawsuit Thursday. Each of them claim some level of abuse at the hands of the Bean Center or Dauer, ranging from poor training to personal retaliation.
