Knoxville man get refund 14 months after wrong windows delivered

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville man ordered new windows more than a year ago, but the wrong style was delivered, and for 14 months, there’s been a stalemate. He told 6 News the window company wouldn’t take the windows back.

The windows have remained stacked up in his garage since they were delivered. Charles Hamilton can’t install the new windows because they don’t meet the requirements of his condo association. Charles Hamilton said he knew the condo regulations when he ordered the windows. After our interview, we contacted the window company, and the impasse has been broken.

Charles Hamilton, who is 92 and a Korean War veteran, ordered his new windows in March 2025, but the windows that were delivered are not the right style.

“They’re 4-grid windows. We never even opened them. You got four grids here. On the top and the bottom. The association requires six grids,” said David Hamilton, Charles Hamilton’s son.

All the units in Charles Hamilton’s neighborhood have windows with six grids. He paid $2,266 to purchase the windows from ABC Supply in Knoxville and said he told the company they delivered the wrong style windows, but ABC would not make the exchange…
