KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knoxville Police Department has charged a 54-year-old man with attempted first-degree murder after an assault on Lula Powell Drive.
According to the department, Robert Meade is the suspect in the case, which began around 6 a.m. Sunday when KPD officers responded to a reported assault with a hammer. It happened at 1100 Lula Powell Drive.
“As officers arrived on scene, Meade opened the door to the apartment and stepped out with a hammer in his hand,” KPD’s Christyn Allen said. “Officers commanded Meade to drop the hammer, then quickly took him into custody.”…
