KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The war between Ukraine and Russia marked its fourth year in February 2026 — and the need for help hasn’t gone away. One Knoxville couple traveled overseas on April 22 to volunteer where help was needed most.
Russia’s invasion began in 2022, and while global attention has shifted, those on the ground say the crisis is far from over. That reality is what drove Knoxville residents Susie Johnson and Ken Graves to take action.
“They are so resilient,” Ken said. “They are carrying on their lives as normal. Air raid sirens are going off or there’s major reports of these hypersonic missiles or drones.”…
