KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – A Knox County commissioner is proposing an elevated lane on I-40 to address traffic congestion instead of expanding the interstate outward.
Commissioner Larsen Jay sees adding a lane above the current interstate from Strawberry Plains to the I-40/75 split as a solution. He said he has seen this approach in other cities across the country, including San Antonio, Miami and Atlanta.
