ANDERSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A man drove into a creek while trying to avoid law enforcement, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said.
On Tuesday, ACSO deputies were trying to serve outstanding warrants to Daniel James Poore II, 32, on charges of criminal conspiracy, burglary, and contempt of court. When the deputies tried to perform a traffic stop, Poore fled from the intersection of Hillcrest Road and Sulphur Springs Road to Dutch Valley Road and Frost Bottom Road, according to ACSO.

The Oliver Springs Police Department and ACSO deployed spike strips. Trying to avoid the strips, Poore turned off the road and drove straight into a creek, ACSO said.
Poore’s sedan quickly came to a rest, and he left his vehicle, laying down in the water, ACSO said. Deputies went into the creek, served the warrants, and took him into custody. More charges have been added.

ACSO quipped that serving the warrant went “swimmingly.”…
