Prosecutors file intent to seek life without parole against Walland man charged with triple murder, arson

Prosecutors are looking to put the man accused of the Payne Hollow triple murder and arson case in jail for good.

On Thursday, Blount County Attorney General Ryan Desmond submitted a notice of intent to seek a life without parole sentence against Johnny Ray Wilburn.

Wilburn, 57, was arrested Jan. 21, 2025, less than a day after firefighters recovered the bodies of Cas Ivan Farley, 61, Delmar Marty Farley, 59, and Norma Kay Farley, 65, from their burned down home on Payne Hollow Road. An autopsy later revealed that all three bodies bore evidence of “injuries consistent with homicide.”…
