Knox Co. deputy files multimillion-dollar lawsuit against man accused of trying to kill him with rock

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knox County Deputy Dalton Swanger has filed a lawsuit against the man accused of trying to kill him with a rock in June 2025.

According to the complaint obtained by WVLT News from Attorney T. Scott Jones, Swanger is seeking $2.5 million in damages from Christopher Hensley.

Hensley is accused of throwing a large rock at Swanger, critically injuring him. The Knox County Sheriff’s Office said Hensley then ran from the scene but was taken into custody the next morning…
