NORRIS, Tenn. (WATE) — An investigation is underway in Anderson County after several rats were illegally dumped on Clear Creek Road.
On June 27, the Norris Police Department received a report of illegal dumping. NPD said a resident reported that several dead rats had been dumped in the area of Lower Clear Creek Road and Reservoir Road in Norris. Photos from the area show hundreds of dead rats piled together in the woods just off Clear Creek Road.
NPD is handling the investigation and working with Anderson County Animal Control and the Anderson County Emergency Management Agency.

“Illegal dumping of any type is not condoned by the City of Norris and does not align with our community standards. If anyone has any information regarding this case, please contact the Norris Police Department at 865-494-0880,” wrote Norris Police Chief Mike Poole.
