Knoxville-Knox Planning Commission approves rezoning of 13-acre Strawberry Plains plot, drawing opposition from neighbors

STRAWBERRY PLAINS, Tenn. (WVLT) -The Knoxville-Knox County Planning Commission has voted to rezone a 13-acre plot of land along Strawberry Plains Pike, and it’s drawing opposition from nearby residents.

The land had been zoned as rural conservation, which prohibited development on at least 50% of the property.

Developer Joe Davis wants to build up to five homes per acre on the site, which sits near Carter Elementary School…
