Tennessee to invest $3 million in quantum computing

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Tennessee state government announced that it is committing $3 million in funding to support quantum computing.

The money is meant to support National Science Foundation (NSF) X-Labs quantum teams that decide to do research, business operations, or commercialization in Tennessee.

“Over the past few years, Tennessee has earned the reputation as having one of the strongest quantum ecosystems in the country,” said Tennessee Governor Bill Lee. “This investment will help ensure that the companies developing tomorrow’s quantum technologies will choose our state to grow, cultivate high-quality jobs and bring new innovations.”

Any X-Lab awardee who relocates to Tennessee and any companies that emerge from the E-labs program will get priority consideration for a program that awards state funding. Learn more on the state’s website…
