Four Tennessee cities ranked among the best for first-time homebuyers

One Tennessee city was rated among the best in the nation for first-time homebuyers in 2026.

WalletHub ranked 300 cities to determine the best and worst cities for first-time homebuyers to try and break into the market. According to the study, buying a home for the first time has become increasingly difficult as prices and interest rates increase. In 2025, first-time buyers made up just 21% of the market, compared to the historical average of 40%.
