Knoxville fire investigators arrest suspect accused of setting fire near gas station

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — Knoxville Fire Department fire investigators arrested a man accused of intentionally setting a fire early Saturday morning next to a Knoxville gas station, officials said.

KFD crews responded around 3:53 a.m. July 25 to a reported fire at the Quick Stop gas station at 815 W. Baxter Ave. When firefighters arrived, they found a campsite burning beside the business, according to the department.

Crews put out the fire quickly, and no damage was reported to the gas station or nearby structures, KFD said.
