Popular Market Square spot Myrtle’s Chicken and Beer shuts down

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A restaurant located on Market Square in the heart of downtown Knoxville has permanently closed its doors.

Myrtle’s Chicken and Beer had its final day of service on Sunday, the business announced Monday on Facebook.

“We truly appreciate all the love and support we were shown for the past 6 years,” the restaurant wrote on social media. “It has been our honor and privilege to have been a part of the Knoxville community.”

Myrtle’s closed its locations on Kingston Pike and Market Square in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic before ultimately reopening the downtown location.
