COLUMBIA, Tenn. (WKRN) — Tennessee fire departments began making their way to Texas on Sunday to support efforts to contain the Ross Fire.
Tennessee Fire Chiefs Association announced that units in Knoxville, Brentwood, Franklin, Madison County, Murfreesboro, Maury County, and Columbia have been dispatched.

The Knoxville Fire Department said that five members went to Texas at 6 a.m. on Sunday as an engine strike team. They plan to man fire stations to assist while crews fight the wildfires in Ross, KFD said.
Columbia Fire & Rescue said six personnel, one fire engine and one support truck are heading to a rally point near Fort Worth.
“We are proud of our firefighters for answering the call to assist another community during a time of need,” said Chris Cummins, CFR chief. “Our personnel are prepared to serve wherever they are needed, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support the firefighting efforts in Texas.”
