KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — The cause of a camper fire in East Knox County is under investigation, and officials said a man was taken to jail after they reportedly interfered with firefighters battling that fire.
Rural Metro Fire said that firefighters responded to a fire involving a camper in the 8600 block of Bud Hawkins Road in East Knox County around 2 p.m. Saturday. When firefighters arrived, they found the camper on fire and the fire had spread into a nearby home.

Crews were able to extinguish the flames, which only reached a second-floor bedroom and attic. No injuries were reported following the fire.
Rural Metro said water supply was a challenge, but crews with the Blaine Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid with tankers to shuttle water to the fire.

The agency also said one person was taken to jail for interfering with firefighters. A spokesperson for Rural Metro explained to 6 News that the man pushed a firefighter, and interfering with a firefighter is a felony.
