4-star Georgia recruiting target reaches out to Vols commit George MacIntyre

Sometimes one good turn deserves another.  That could eventually be the case for Josh Heupel and the Tennessee Volunteers after Monday’s big news.

Heupel was able to secure the commitment of 5-star 2025 QB George MacIntyre out of Brentwood Academy.  MacIntyre gives the Vols a sustained bright future at the position for years to come.

What it also means is a potentially significantly easier time in trying to sell the big fish in recruiting on the direction of the Tennessee program.  You can simply point to a player like MacIntyre (and Nico Iamaleava, for that matter) and show that Tennessee is getting the caliber of player that can help win championships and can make them look better.

As it turns out, some of those big fish are trying to jump in the boat.

OT Jaelyne Matthews, a 2025 4-star recruit out of Toms River, NJ, reached out to MacIntyre on Monday after his commitment and inquired if MacIntyre needed linemen.  The newest Vol commit encouraged him to join him.

Matthews is a top 100 recruit nationally per On3 Sports and the #9 tackle.  He holds an offer from Georgia, and most recruiting services have him as a solid Georgia lean.
