KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A Knoxville mom whose food stamps were cut off in November has finally gotten an answer she’s been waiting for. The local state human services office called saying her recertification for SNAP benefits has been approved.
Cassey Bradshaw said she was surprised by the call. She had expected a call earlier this month, but it never came. The 24-year-old single mom is disabled because of serious health issues. She updated her SNAP benefits in November, but they were cut off . They have finally been restored.
Bradshaw and her aunt, Cynthia Neff, had just about given up hope of talking with a Human Services agent about Bradshaw’s food stamp benefits. She received a notice at the end of December to expect a call on Jan. 9 about reapplying for food stamps. Fourteen days later, she finally received the information she had been waiting to hear.
“Yep, They called me. I missed the phone call. They called me back and they said my benefits will be on there in one or two days and they’re on there,” said Bradshaw.
