John Buchanan said he found his brother in his Memphis home with a coat over his head
A popular Memphis DJ died after he was beheaded, according to his family members.
Local news outlet WTVT reported that Rick Buchanan, known publicly as DJ Slick Rick, was found decapitated in the Berclair neighborhood of Memphis on Wednesday.
His brother John Buchanan told the outlet he was the one who found his body at Slick Rick’s home.
“I walked in and found him, and I just called 911,” John told WTVT.
“I thought his coat was up over his head like it was cold or something,” John said. “I ran out and then I ran back in. And, then I realized it was something worse.”
In a separate WTVT report , John said he went to his brother’s house in Berclair after receiving a call from Slick Rick’s neighbor. When he arrived, he found that the back door was open, and his brother’s dog, Lucky, was in the yard, which seemed unusual.
“A lot of things were weird,” John said. “He had his keys still in his hand. His pants were pulled down to his feet and the back door was wide open, so that’s the weird stuff.”
