Suspect accused of running over woman in Knoxville taken into custody

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — A man charged with attempted first-degree murder after he allegedly ran over a woman and crashed into the front porch of a Knoxville home on Thursday has been taken into custody

The Knoxville Police Department said Friday afternoon that 25-year-old Steffon Green was taken into custody at the Big Oak Apartments.

Green, of Knoxville, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, DUI, and felony vandalism.

He was accused of intentionally running over a woman and crashing into the front porch of a home on Maryville Pike early Thursday morning, leaving the victim with serious injuries. KPD added that the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police said the incident happened after a domestic dispute.
