It’s hard to believe just days ago we were still struggling through one of the lengthiest stretches of wintry weather to grip most of East Tennessee since reliable weather records began in 1910.
I never thought pavement could be so pretty.
Like many of you whose jobs required extra effort during the storms, our newsroom worked very long hours for many days straight, and I’m proud of the efforts of so many reporters, photographers, videographers, designers, digital producers, support staff and editors to keep you on top of the latest developments.
We talk a lot about not letting the urgent push out the important in our work, and a stretch like this past one tested that maxim constantly. So as we head into the coming week, we’re taking time Monday to evaluate about what we did well, what we could have done better, what we will do better next time and what we still need to do.
