Cash reward offered for suspect who shot at 3 Knoxville businesses

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Police Department asking for your help to identify a suspect that shot into local businesses.

Stacey Payne, the executive director with the East Tennessee Crime Stoppers tells us the three businesses targeted were the Raising Cane’s on Cumberland Avenue, the Exxon gas station in Fountain City, and the Knoxville Utilities Board operations center on Jackson Avenue.

Payne said that the shootings occurred between January 10-15 at night when the businesses were closed. Windows and/or front doors at were damaged at the three locations.

The suspect’s vehicle is a 2013 black Hyundai Sonata.

In security footage, a vehicle can be seen pulling up to the door, firing at least one shot and before driving away.

Security footage from the KUB center on Jackson Avenue shows the car passing the business several times before stopping in front and firing a shot at the door.

“The video showing the same person, the same suspect vehicle so yes there is a connection there,” Payne said.
