KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Potholes continue to pose a problem for many drivers in Tennessee , while several construction projects are impacting the state’s roads. WATE’s Bo Williams has what you need to know for February 2-7, 2024 in this week’s traffic conditions livestream.
According to Mark Nagi from the Tennessee Department of Transportation , this time of year is when the most potholes occur, and with the recent snow and ice, even more are appearing. He added that the patches covering the potholes are temporary, and the majority of resurfacing projects take place during the Spring when TDOT has better access to hot asphalt.

Some notable projects to be aware of include the ongoing Alcoa Highway construction , the Interstate 640 Reconstruction , and the lane closures on I-75 in Campbell County.
