KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — We visited the new Hotel Cleo on Gay Street.
Sparkling chandeliers, mirrors from Italy, and eclectic art pieces from all over are curated for this space. Newly-opened French restaurant Lilou is just off the lobby of this private concierge-style property.
Developers Oliver Smith and HD Patel showed us one of the hotel’s 16 rooms.
“They’re all very large, executive suites,” said Smith. “And each room has its own feel due to the nature of the antiques that were put in.”

Consoles were created just for the space to display French pastries offered each morning.
We asked, “Who is this for?” Smith and Patel said, “This is for everyone. You’re going to get business people coming here, you’re going to get people wanting to experience a nice weekend, a couple, getaway from the children, get a little break and have a wonderful meal.”
The $12 million project is three years in the making. The goal is to have this become a hub for guests looking for a luxury vacation spot as they travel in and around Knoxville.
