From the start of the judicial system ruling that the NCAA can’t prevent student-athletes from profiting from their own name, image and likeness (NIL), the NCAA was clear that these independent NIL collectives cannot use the NIL during the recruiting process. It’s a rule passed by its own member institutions and now the NCAA is enforcing this rule against the University of Tennessee, state governments are coming after the NCAA based on anti-trust issues.
