Takeaways: Despite 35 points from Rob Dillingham Tennessee takes down Kentucky in Rupp Arena

The buzz in Lexington was through the roof as the Tennessee Volunteers were coming to Lexington, and Kentucky lost a track meet 103-92.

Both teams threw punches, but Kentucky just couldn’t seem to get back into this game, leading to their fourth loss in SEC play.

With a loss to Florida on Tuesday, the Wildcats went 0-2 on the week, really hurting the team’s chances of winning the SEC Regular Season Title.

What can we take away from Kentucky’s loss to the Tennessee Volunteers?

Rob Dillingham played out of his mind

The only reason Kentucky was in this game is because Rob Dillingham played out of his mind. The freshman guard scored 35 points on 14-20 shooting and 6-8 from three. If Dillingham continues to play like this, Kentucky will turn it around. His style of play makes it clear that Dillingham is going to be a star at the next level. The final score would have been a lot uglier if Dillingham didn’t have a career night.
