Bill seeks to repeal Tennessee law that allowed Ballad Health to form

A new bill in Tennessee’s general assembly takes aim at Ballad Health and seeks to repeal the law that allowed the hospital organization to form. The bill proposed by Knoxville Democrat Gloria Johnson calls Ballad’s Certificate of Public Advantage a “failed experiment.” That’s the legislation that waived anti-trust law to allow Mountain States Health Alliance and Wellmont Health System to merge in 2018 and form Ballad.
