Police said the bullet came from a handgun that was discharged in a neighboring apartment.
“I feel like I’m in a dream and I want somebody to pinch me and wake me up,” Angela Rogers said. “This is something that no mother, no parent should ever have to endure. It’d be a lot easier for me to comprehend if it was natural causes.”
Rogers said that the circumstances surrounding her daughter’s death have made it even harder as she prepares to travel from North Carolina.
“To think that reckless gun violence took my daughter from me, I want to be my daughter’s voice and every mother’s voice that they never have to endure a nightmare like this,” Rogers said.
