KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The heat lamps inside a chicken coop led to a camper fire in northwest Knoxville according to the Knoxville Fire Department.
At 6:25 a.m., a 911 caller said her camper was on fire and that it was very close to her home in the 5000 block of Stoneleigh Road. The Knoxville Fire Department responded and found the 5th wheel-style camper fully engulfed in flames. Crews quickly began working to put the fire out and were able to get the majority of it extinguished within 10 minutes.

While the home was not impacted by the fire, it did extend into a tractor-trailer trailer next to the camper. KFD shared that the cause fire has been determined to be the misuse of heat lamps to warm a chicken coop that was inside the camper.

KFD reported that no injuries have been reported and no one lived in the camper. In total, two engine companies, one squad company, one ladder company, one hazmat company, one rescue company, two battalion chiefs and 18 members responded to the fire.
