According to the sheriff, the deputies pulled over Kenneth DeHart’s vehicle around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Maryville.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reports DeHart refused to get out of the car. TBI said one of deputies deployed a Taser to “no effect.”

At some point, officials said DeHart pulled a gun and opened fire, but they’re still sorting out details as to what led to the shooting and the traffic stop.
