Billboards across Southeast display photo of ‘fugitive’ charged in deputy’s death

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — After five days, law enforcement is still searching for Kenneth Wayne DeHart , who was charged with fatally shooting Blount County Deputy Greg McCowan . To assist, an advertising company has helped distribute DeHart’s photo across the Southeast.

On Tuesday, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation posted on X, thanking the advertising company Lamar for helping them place information about DeHart across the Southeast on digital billboards. LAMAR has more than 360,000 displays across the U.S. and Canada.

“Information about #TNMostWanted Kenneth DeHart is on numerous billboards across Tennessee and beyond. We continue to work with local, state, and federal agencies to locate DeHart.” TBI spokesperson Leslie Earhart wrote on X.

DeHart was placed on the TBI’s Most Wanted list in the early morning hours of Friday, February 9, approximately an hour and a half after the TBI issued a Blue Alert for DeHart. $100,000 in rewards have been offered for tips leading to DeHart’s capture.
