Tennessee tornado: At least 1 dead, 3 injured as twister ravages community, leaving carnage in wake

At least one person is dead, three are injured and four are trapped after a tornado ravaged a Tennesee community on Wednesday evening, wreaking havoc and leaving a trail of carnage in its wake.

The local station also reported three non-life-threatening injuries, with the victims being treated at Maury Regional, a hospital in Maury County, Tennessee, about 53 miles southwest of Nashville.

Local schools will be closed on Thursday as the authorities assess the damage from the nasty storm . That includes schools in both Maury and nearby Sumner Counties.

The tornadoes were the product of a line of storms moving eastward across Tennessee, which also carried with them flash flood warnings from torrential rains and severe winds.

The National Weather Service’s Nashville branch has been posting new severe weather warnings to X about once every 10 minutes, with severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and other warnings in effect until well into the evening hours across the entire state.
