Early Monday morning, the Knoxville Fire Department was summoned to a residential fire in the Lonsdale neighborhood on Bragg Street, the department’s officials reported to WVLT. Assistant Chief Mark Wilbanks indicated that the notification came after a neighbor, upon discovering the fire, promptly drove to Fire Station 7 to alert the firefighters, the blaze was located in the 2600 block of Bragg Street where crews, arriving shortly after 6:30 a.m., encountered a small fire inside the home; additional units were dispatched to assist while Engine 7 tackled the flames which proved challenging due to the building’s condition.
