Tony Vitello already proved his loyalty to the Tennessee Vols in a huge way just days after winning it all

When you’re on top of the mountain, everyone is gunning for you.  That applies both in the context of those wanting to knock you off as well as pluck your coaches.  Tony Vitello proved over the weekend that he’s not ready to get off of Rocky Top just yet.

According to Kendall Rogers of D1 Baseball, the Texas A&M Aggies made what he calls a “very furious run ($$)” at the Tennessee Vols’ head coach.  However, Vitello is staying put.

Texas A&M announced on Sunday afternoon that it is hiring hitting coach Michael Earley as its new head coach.

I mean, yeah.  I get shooting your shot if you’re Texas A&M, but why would a guy who looks like this just on Monday even be thinking about going somewhere?

Add in that the Vols are upgrading their facilities to reach close to 8000 seats and the national champion Vols are as easy of a sell to any prospective recruit or portal target as there is in college baseball.  Oh, yeah, and there have been rumblings about a major extension for Vitello already being in the works .
