JCPD: Endangered child, suspect found in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A five-year-old boy and his non-custodial father who were at the center of a Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Endangered Child Alert were found in Johnson City.

On Tuesday, the TBI issued the alert for Dejon Parker on behalf of the Knoxville Police Department.

Parker was believed to be with his non-custodial father, Darrell Moore, 42, of Knoxville.

According to the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD), an investigation by the Knoxville Police Department found that Moore was in the Johnson City area.

The JCPD, TBI and Knoxville police worked together to locate both Moore and Parker.

The JCPD took Moore into custody without incident and turned him over to Knoxville police on Wednesday, a news release from the JCPD states.

Parker was found unharmed and placed in the care of the Department of Children’s Services.
