Campus Police Issue Desperate Plea to Tennessee Fans After Alabama Win

The Tennessee Volunteers only beat the Alabama Crimson Tide once during the Nick Saban era, the one time being in 2022 in Knoxville. History repeated itself in Week 8, as Tennessee won 24-17 at Neyland Stadium. However, Kalen DeBoer was Alabama’s head coach this time around.

The Volunteers snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Crimson Tide in 2022 after a game-winning field goal from Chase McGrath for a historic 52-49 win.

The goalposts came down after Tennessee’s massive win in that game, and campus police tried to avoid that scenario in Week 8. Tennessee campus police made a post on X urging fans not to bring down the goalposts once the game went final.

“While we are thrilled with a victory over Alabama… we would greatly appreciate the goalposts NOT leaving the stadium,” the campus police said. “Please make your way out of the stadium…safely.”
