KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — A 13-year-old Cedar Bluff student was charged with making threats of mass violence earlier this week.
According to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, the teen was arrested on Wednesday and charged with making threats of mass violence.

A parent of a Cedar Bluff Middle School student shared an email signed by Executive Principal Desirée Jones with 6 News, which stated that a student had been taken into custody after a potential threat was reported late Wednesday afternoon.
The email continued to explain that school administration immediately notified school security and law enforcement, who responded and handled the situation quickly.

Neither the email nor the sheriff’s office shared the exact nature of the threat.
