Ghouls, goblins and good dogs: Downtown Maryville delivers frightening fun at annual Spooktacular Extravaganza

Downtown Maryville got a little spooky Friday evening during the 11th annual Spooktacular Extravaganza.

Companies and organizations lined the street to hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. Children, dressed in a variety of costumes that ranged from cute to creepy, danced in the street and played games set up on the top of the Maryville Municipal parking garage.

The frightening festivities weren’t exclusively for humans; the event also featured a dog costume for furry companions.

The night culminated in a costume showcase and contest where folks were awarded with “scariest,” “cutest,” “most original” and “most creative.”
