Tennessee will host an important recruit for Kentucky game that would be a game changer for the Vols

The Tennessee Vols will reportedly host 2026 five-star cornerback Elbert Hill on an unofficial visit this weekend for UT’s matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Hill, 5-foot-170 lbs from Akron, OH, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 1 cornerback in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio. He’s also rated as the No. 15 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The coveted defensive back included Tennessee among his top 10 schools in late September, along with Ohio State, USC, Oregon, Michigan, Texas A&M, Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA, and Penn State

The assumption is that Hill will end up at Ohio State. It’s tough to swipe elite cornerbacks out of Ohio, after all. But the Vols could give themselves a legitimate shot in this recruiting battle with a big performance this weekend against Kentucky. The atmosphere at Neyland is expected to be elite this weekend for the prime time showdown. Tennessee will be wearing its black uniforms, which always leads to a little more electricity in the air at Neyland.
