Two seats on the Maryville City Council are up for election this November, with two incumbents seeking reelection and one challenging looking to upset them. For the candidates, primary issues at stake are the state of growth and financial management in Maryville as the city heads into the future.
Drew Miles and Sarah Herron are seeking reelection. Dallas Monroe is hoping for his first seat on the council.
The Daily Times attempted to contact all qualified candidates to answer a common set of questions. The responses received are printed below, with some trimming when candidates exceeded length limits. Candidates are arranged alphabetically by first name.

Brief biographical Info: I am a Maryville native and have had the good fortune of raising my family in Maryville and residing inside the city limits the last 24 years. I graduated from Heritage High School and later the University of Tennessee with an accounting degree. I have 30 years of corporate finance experience and currently serve as the Chief Financial Officer at West Chevrolet. My wife is a teacher in the Blount County System and we have one daughter attending MHS. I’m affiliated with the following community organizations: Maryville City School Foundation Board; Parks and Recreation Commission; and the Clayton Center Advisory Board.
