OAK RIDGE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — The Oak Ridge Police Department announced the passing of one of their own on Tuesday.

Lieutenant Marvell Moore, who joined ORPD in 2005, died unexpectedly after a recent procedure, according to ORPD. The department posted a tribute to Moore late Tuesday night.
We are mourning the loss of ORPD Lieutenant Marvell Moore who died unexpectedly today from medical complications following a recent procedure. We extend our deepest condolences to Lt. Moore’s family and loved ones. He was loved by so many, and we appreciate the patience and understanding our community has extended to us during this difficult time. Lt. Moore joined ORPD in 2005. He served as Sergeant of the Criminal Investigations Division before being promoted to Lieutenant in Jan. 2023.
