Country Fresh Fudge Celebrates More Than 35 Years of Sweet Success

As a teenager, Ed Stockton worked long hours in his mom’s from-scratch bakery in Oliver Springs. “I learned to decorate cakes and bake and stir the fillings for cream pies when I was 16 years old,” says Stockton, who co-owns Country Fresh Food & Confections with his wife, Pamela, in his hometown near the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. “A lot of times, you’d go in there after school on Friday and work all night and finally get out of there about 6 or 7 the next night. It was exhausting. But I learned a lot of good, valuable lessons about how you make this stuff.”
