“It’s all about coming together as one mind, one accord. A lot of depression happens around this time of year, so if we can pull together as a community. It’s all about bringing back family together or people that are lonely bringing them together. They might make some new friends here or gain new relationships here and give them that warm Christmas spirit,” said Deacon Jonathon Trotter.
This is not the only way the church has given back this season. With the help of Burger King, they also gave out food and clothes to people under the bridge.
“We were under the bridge yesterday and we fed two hundred. We go two or three times a week under the bridge, and we give food boxes out to anybody that needs it. It’s hard to see if somebody calls you and say, ‘Well, I only give it out on the 25th of the month’ which a lot of food banks do. I don’t, I can’t do that,” explained Pastor Ricky Dotson.
