KPD: No fatalities on Knoxville streets on Christmas

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) β€” The Knoxville Police Department said that there were no fatalities on city streets on Christmas.

KPD conducted high-visibility traffic enforcement from 4 p.m. Christmas Eve through Christmas Day, according to a traffic report released Thursday. This was meant to prevent reckless driving and serious injuries from crashes.

β€œAnd we are happy to report that there were zero fatalities on City streets through the holiday,” KPD posted on X.

While there were no fatalities, there were some citations and crashes, including:

  • 58 total citations
  • 18 speeding citations
  • 45 warning citations
  • 11 crash investigations
  • 5 crashes with injury
  • 1 DUI arrest
  • 5 motorists assisted
