According to the City of Oak Ridge, the resurfacing project on S. Illinois Avenue (SR 62) is being managed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), which oversees the roadway, including its side roads, turn lanes, and business entrances. This project, which began earlier this year, was initially scheduled for completion by October 31, 2024. However, progress has been delayed due to weather constraints impacting work during allowable lane closure hours.
