A former Tennessee Vols linebacker landed with the Colorado Buffaloes on Sunday.
Former Vols linebacker Martavius French announced on Sunday afternoon that he’s heading to Boulder to play for Deion Sanders.
French, who signed with the Vols during the 2020 recruiting cycle, spent the last three seasons at UTSA.
French didn’t appear any games for the Vols in 2020. He transferred from Tennessee to Hutchinson Community College ahead of the 2021 season. French, who totaled 31 tackles and 5.5 sacks during his one season at Hutchinson, transferred to UTSA in 2022.
The former three-star returned to Neyland Stadium last season for UTSA’s game against Tennessee.
French is one of three players that Tennessee signed out of Whitehaven (Memphis) during the 2020 recruiting cycle (along with Bryson Eason and Tamarion McDonald….Eason is the only one of the three that didn’t leave Tennessee). The Vols also signed Omari Thomas and Jabari Small out of Memphis in 2020.
Former Vols quarterback Kaidon Salter transferred to Colorado last month. French and Salter were briefly teammates at Tennessee.
